Kelly Castellano, Architect
Kelly began cultivating her passion for architecture and design at an early age. Extensive international travel as a child exposed her to many different cities and cultures. Visits to the monumental pyramids of Egypt and first hand experiences with the detailed mosaics of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome gave her an early appreciation for the careful combination of form, material, and environment. Her taste for the mystery and exitement of new places connected her to architecture and affords her a keen sense of spatial perception.
After grounding her collegiate education at the College of DuPage, Kelly transferred to the Illinois Institute of Technology and completed her Bachelors of Architecture, a professional architecture degree. During her student tenure she worked on a variety of building typologies including residential, educational, civic and mixed-use developments, gaining a wide range of experience in design and construction.
Sustainable design was a constant theme throughout her academic work, which lead to an AIA Chicago Sustainable Leadership award as well as a LEED Green Associate certification.
As an Architectural Designer with EWP, Kelly assists in all aspects of the project - space planning, construction documentation, visualization and finish selection. In her free time, Kelly enjoys painting, watching documentaries and planning future travels
